September: the best conditions of the year
Warm days, cool evenings, and — critically — much lower humidity than August at similar temperatures. Sunset is still after 7pm, so a 4pm or 5pm ceremony leaves plenty of light.
No fall color yet. Bucks County is still green in September. If autumn foliage is the reason you want a fall wedding, September won't deliver it.

October: color, and a countdown
Fall color in Bucks County peaks mid-to-late October in most years, and it's genuinely spectacular — the county is heavily wooded and the Delaware valley turns dramatically.
The daylight problem. Sunset drops roughly 50 minutes across October:

A 5pm ceremony on October 5 leaves reasonable light. The same ceremony on October 26 does not. Move the ceremony earlier as the month progresses — 3pm or 4pm for late October.
Also worth knowing: October 31 is the year's latest sunrise at 7:27am, a Daylight Saving artifact. Morning-of getting-ready photos will be in the dark.
October is the most contested month in the county. Full pricing, longest lead times, and the least negotiating room.
November: the best value in the calendar
Early November is genuinely the strongest value combination available. You can still catch late fall color, temperatures are workable at a 54° average high, and venue pricing has dropped to off-season rates — typically 15–25% below.
The constraint is daylight. Daylight Saving ends in early November and sunset drops roughly an hour overnight, to around 4:44pm mid-month. Plan an early-afternoon ceremony.
Thanksgiving weekend is complicated for guests and often priced as peak despite the season.

Tell guests to bring layers. A 65° October afternoon becomes a 48° evening. Guests dressed for a 4pm ceremony will be cold at 8pm if any of the reception is outdoors.
Don't over-plan around peak color. Foliage timing shifts by a week or two year to year and nobody can predict it in advance. If color matters, mid-to-late October is your best odds — not a guarantee.
